Overlooking the falls, Natalie's serves sophisticated dinners in an elegant space.

If the weather is lovely a martini on the deck would be a soothing way to begin an evening here, the rush of the water from the falls soothing away the frenzy of the workday. After all, think of what you have in prospect. The seasonal menu might hold an appetizer of seared foie gras ($16) with lobster, ginger, and red onion marmalade and huckleberries; or, somewhat less extravagantly, an arugula salad ($10) with mango and artichokes.

For dinner the crabcake ($29) with foie gras butter and charred tomatillos sustains the theme. Soybean, asparagus, and Maine feta raviolis ($25) with carrot-daikon slaw in miso broth sounds both healthy and delightful; but halibut ($27) with oxtail ragout, morels, and asparagus salad does too.

A fall dessert was cinnamon-apple tart ($8.50) with apple-current strudel and vanilla bean gelato.

In the summertime you can enjoy the bar menu both on the deck and in the bar, with meals of clam chowder, roasted Pemaquid oysters with foie gras butter, and a changing burger that was served in the fall with portobello mushrooms, Gruyère, and fries that have been twice fried in peanut oil and garnished with fresh shallots and garlic.

The cocktail menu is tailored to pair with the menu, with drinks like mulled cider or a cranberry mojito in the fall.
