With value wines at $4.49 a bottle and a wide selection of others priced not a lot higher, this store's wine section is a find. Mark Schoninger has the largest selection of organic wine in Maine. Also products from Borealis Breads, Black Crow Bread, and Tuva Bakery -winner of the Common Ground Fair's 2006 Best of Show award-Coffee By Design beans, and a big display of Oyster Creek dried mushrooms.
One fall Sunday, Schoninger listed farms providing produce here: Morning Dew Farm offers mesclun with flowers, baby kale, bail, garlic, and romaine; and Sparrow Farm in Pittston stocks scallions, delicata squash, and cranberries. Squire Tarbox Farm in Westport provides arugula and intends to grow year-round in a greenhouse. Blueberry Ledge Farm in East Pittston green beans, too, as well as Maine-ly Poultry chicken, Caldwell Farm beef, Post Family Farm raw milk.
